Here are a couple of comments from Norfolk Adult Education feedback forms on the 2009 week-long course. I’m always so relieved that courses seem to go well. Phew!
“Paeony was a great tutor. Very patient and gave good constructive advice. She made it fun and full of variety and gave lots of practical advice. I would recommend this course.”
“Provided lots of ideas, inspiration and clues as to the way forwards. I feel much clearer as to how to write for children.”
Writing Children’s Fiction Workshops
Saturday 16 October 2010 or
Saturday 5 February 2011
Wensum Lodge, Norwich 10am-4pm
Have you ever thought about writing stories for children? Or discovering what goes on in the world of children’s publishing? You can find out more on one of these popular Saturday workshops (please book early to be sure of a place).
Beginners and those who’ve started writing are all welcome. On this introductory course we’ll explore the skills needed to write picture books for toddlers (you don’t have to be able to illustrate or find an illustrator); fun books for 5-7 year olds (these simple books are trickier than you might think); and stimulating novels for 8-11 year olds.
I’ll be tutoring the course and will pass on everything I wish I’d known when I first began writing for children. I aim to make the course as friendly, interesting and supportive as possible. At the end of the busy day I hope all the students will be inspired to continue writing.
Click here to go to the official Adult Education page (and booking). Please note the course is from 10am-4pm (not 3pm as on the official website). £28 (concs £11).
